Testimonial: Alice
Dear Steve,
My hand fed Umbrella Cockatoo Alice, born November 2002, lives in Sweden. She has worn two Feather Tether harnesses earlier. She couldn’t resist preening and nibbling them, and easily broke their metal clips, thus making the harnesses very dangerous.
This led us to the Aviator Bird Flight Harness a few years ago. Now we could never go back to any other kind of harness, since the Aviator is like a second skin to her.
It’s so comfortable she doesn’t seem to notice it; when she preens herself she lets it be entirely. Most importantly, when she does get scared, which is inevitable sometimes for such curious and sensitive creatures, her instinct is to fly… With the Aviator, that doesn’t result in a crash and pain when the leash jerk in her whole body; instead the shock cord gets extended, moves around the harness, and she ends up flying in a small circle, landing on me safely without any pain at all. For me, that makes all other kind of harnesses ‘animal cruelty’ compared to this one!
We take Alice on many adventures, by boat, visiting the town, walking in the forest, or hiking sometimes for a whole day, up to 12 hours.
The Aviator harness allows us to have such trips, feeling safe.
I appreciate very much your deep engagement, attempting to improve in every area. Unfortunately your kind is rare in the Avian world, as birds are considered more of a commodity, and few people are that serious and caring as you are.
Sincerely,
Linda Mankefors
